The Early Childhood Mental Health Training and Technical Assistance Center (TTAC) was pleased to host a 3 hour workshop designed to introduce Family Peer Advocates to Motivational Interviewing (MI). The workshop focused on how MI can be used to increase engagement and identify family driven goals and objectives. Participants also learned the techniques of motivational interviewing – Open-Ended Questions, Affirmations, Reflections and Summaries (OARS) as well as practiced OARS with each other.
The training was open to all Family Peer Advocates of the Early Childhood Mental Health Network's Early Childhood Therapeutic Centers.
