Developing “Good Enough” Relationships to Support Young Children and Their Families
What make human relationships “good enough” to support the development of a human being?
Whether we serve young children directly, or we support the adults (families, educators) who do that, we invest ourselves in building developmental relationships with these human beings. Often, we may wonder if such relationships are “good enough” - particularly during and after a pandemic that disrupt the connections around us.
Explore this important topic with Dr. Junlei Li who currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Human Development and Education Program and the Saul Zaentz Senior Lecturer in Early Childhood Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
This webinar is an opportunity of reflection and reminder that the simple, ordinary things we do with other human beings do in fact matter. They matter in ways that can be seen and felt in moments when we really show up for others, and in ways that can measured over the long run even if we are not there to see or hear it ourselves.
As a result of this viewing the recorded webinar, participants will:
-Understand the inter-relatedness of relationships, resilience, and human development.
-Reflect on their own experiences supporting children, families, and colleagues during the pandemic.
-Integrate the research about positive childhood experiences with the professional work of early childhood.
