The Child Welfare System in New York: What Early Childhood Mental Health Providers Should Know About ACS and the Family Court

Please join us to explore this important topic.

This workshop will give an overview of the New York State Family Court proceedings following an ACS investigation from the perspectives of the Administration for Children Services, the Center for Family Representation, and an attorney representing the child.

This presentation will discuss potential outcomes of an ACS investigation, Child Neglect or Abuse article 10 proceedings, and legal concepts and considerations. Additionally, presenters will discuss ways infant and toddler mental health providers can support families as they navigate these systems.

Participants of this webinar will be able to:

  • Explain the potential outcomes of an ACS investigation
  • Explain Article 10 proceeding in Family Court
  • Design strategies to support court-involved clients and their families

This webinar is for all of those working in the perinatal period as well as children birth to 5 and their families.
