Foundational and Key Concepts, Principles and Practices of Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH)
This presentation will serve as an introduction to Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) for the beginning professional and a refresher for the seasoned practitioner. Developmental tenants that lay the groundwork for IECMH will be addressed; IECMH will be defined and the core components of that definition elaborated-relationship, emotion/regulation, exploration /learning and cultural formulation. Out of these guiding ideas, the principles that inform “what one does” will be examined, such as, relationship-centered, family focused, play-based, reflective-method, among others, from a clinical, research and case-based perspective.
As an outcome of attending this webinar, participants will be able to:

- Describe the core components of IECMH
- Illustrate IECHH practices
